Who would have thought that as we made our new year’s resolutions, future plans and scheduled our calendars for 2020 that our lives would be turned upside down? ‘2020 Vision’ we said, ‘new decade new plans’ and getting excited for our goals and aspirations to manifest itself. Who could have predicted that a virus would have such an unprecedented impact on the whole world?
I was reading a document which stated that in the UK alone, more that 6.5 million jobs could be lost due to the economic fallout from the coronavirus lockdown. Research by the Institute for Social Economic Research at the University of Essex has warned this would equate to about a quarter of the UK’s total jobs, with more than half of the positions in certain sectors being lost. Times have change, and after lockdown, our new normal will be very different.
It’s time for us to start looking within at how we can discover our own potential.
Our potential is lying dormant deep within us waiting for us to untap our unused success. Potential is all that we can be but not yet achieved, it’s what we can accomplish not yet accomplished. Potential is unexposed ability and latent power.
Potential is not what you have done, but what you are able to do. In other words, what we have done is no longer our potential. It is said that unless we do something beyond what we have done, we will never grow or experience our full potential. Potential demands that we never settle for what we have accomplished.
Just think of the power of a single seed. In every seed there is a tree, and in every tree, there is fruit or flowers with seeds in them. What you see is not all there is. That’s potential, not what is, but what could be. We are also created with potential. Our potential is always present, waiting to be discovered.
We should not except our present state in life as final, because it is just that, a state. Since we are full of potential, we should not be the same person next year that we are this year.
Unfortunately, we become satisfied and settle for what we have. The minute we begin to settle down and be satisfied with what we have, we lose the possibility of revealing what is really inside us.
We fail to realise the vast potential that is stored within us. Too often we die without exploring the gifts, abilities, and successes that lay hidden within us. Our thoughts possibilities and ideas not used.
It’s time for you to discover your true potential
